Each year during Holy Week we read through the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation out loud as a congregation. We do this in an attitude of worship before God showing him our great love and respect for all the words of Scripture. We usually do this in half-hour shifts in the sanctuary; but this year, we will need to do things differently. So, here is the plan!
We have divided the Scriptures into 150 different thirty-minute readings. Choose a section of Scripture from the provided list. Sometime during Holy Week (Palm Sunday, March 28 - Easter, April 4), find a quiet place and read your portion of Scripture out loud to the Lord in an attitude of worship. You can do it all in one sitting or spread it out over the week, but make sure you read the whole portion before Easter Sunday.
Please choose only one section at first to give others an opportunity to sign up. Once Holy Week begins, if there are still extra sections, you may sign up for as many as you like!
We are using SignUp.com to organize the different reading shifts. (Note: SignUp.com is free and easy. You will not need to register an account or create a password. SignUp.com does not share your email address with anyone. If you prefer not to use your email address, please contact the church and we can sign you up manually.)
Click here to go to SignUp.com and see the various readings. If you are looking for a specific passage of Scripture to read, please note that SignUp.com organizes the readings alphabetically.
Thank you for participating in Read Through the Bible during Holy Week with our church family. May God bless you in the reading of his Holy Word!
