Local, National and International Missions

At Plantation Community Church we take seriously Jesus' call to missions as expressed in Matthew 28:18-20, "Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

The church contributes 26% of every dollar received to the missions projects we support. Each mission is evaluated by three criteria: Christ-centeredness, financial accountability, and opportunity for continuing interaction. Here are the missions we currently support:

Mission Fashion (Lily Norman)

A ministry providing pretty clothing, jewelry, barrettes and school supplies for girls, and giving it to those who need it.

Our very own Lily Norman, 13, a life-long Plantation resident and eighth grader at Seminole Middle School, came home from school one day last year worrying about some of her classmates who she said had to wear the same clothes every day.

The event launched in early 2013 in her Plantation Park driveway, but moved into Plantation Community Church for a giveaway the following August.
Lily Norman posted fliers at bus stops, parks and in a coin laundry. Moms and grandmothers stopped by to pick up clothing, shoes, and new school supplies, including backpacks. Many of the clothes were donated by local girls from Broward Elite cheerleading gym in Davie. The clothes that were left over were sent by Plantation Community Church to kids in Honduras. "I'm so proud of it. We accomplished so much,'' Lily said.

Christmas Gifts for Children in Need

We are partnering with the Kinship Cares Initiative at Broward Health to provide Christmas gifts for needy children. Those wishing to help simply select one of the paper ornaments that list a desired gift for a boy or girl and then return these gifts to the church where they are given to the families in need. These are then delivered to the families.
